505 - Top Star Welding Gloves TOP STAR is Superior’s finest line of welding gloves and clothing, for welders who need the best quality equipment. All the soft comfortable leather on these gloves is Number 1 grade, select side-split cowhide. The green Tri-tan leather is made in Superior’s own tannery to impart extra heat resistance and wear qualities. 501 and 505 styles are fully welted with one-piece backs and thermal-knit cotton back lining. Common glove myth
 | Leather is good for abrasion resistance, which is why it is used in motorcycle jackets. However, it is so low in cut resistance that even a lightweight string-knit cotton glove is more cut resistant than the average leather glove. |
