Deluxe Lineman Glove

The leather for our Deluxe Lineman gloves are treated with Waterstop™, which is a fluoro chemical water repellent emulsion to give the leather excellent water, oil, and stain repellent properties. Other special features include our performance thumb/palm patch which reinforces the critical wear areas with a double layer of leather. the back of the cuff is made with a fluorescent yellow leather with a contrasting red stripe for daytime visibility and a 3M Scotchlite™ retro-reflective stripe for night time visibility. All our Deluxe Lineman Mitts and Gloves are sewn with Kevlar® thread for extra seam strength. Kevlar® is a registered trademark of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.

Do more layers equal more protection?
Construction in the palm area of leather gloves leads to some misconceptions. When sizing up gloves in a catalog, it is tempting to believe – based on appearance alone – that a patch palm is going to double your protection. To the uninitiated, palm patches would seem to offer greater protection, as the double palm looks like it would give twice the protection in that area.
The reality with most patch-palm leather glove styles is that the patch exists as a kind of bridge between two pieces of leather to create a full palm. This enables the glove manufacturer to maximize use of the full hide by using up all the smaller leftover pieces.
