Cut Resistant » Kevlar® String Knits

Dupont Kevlar® is considered the most important man-made fiber discovery since nylon. No other fiber has its unique combination of properties, and while it is known first and foremost for cut protection, Kevlar® also protects against thermal burn. In fact, it will not melt or drip around open flame, making it one of the top choices for welding, glass plants, refineries, and so on. Kevlar® thread has become the industry standard for dramatically improving seam strength and flame resistance in cut-and-sewn gloves, particularly ones designed for high-heat applications involving the threat of open flame. And, finally, when it comes to preventing injury, Kevlar® is without question an economical choice. Lost-time injuries are dramatically reduced, but ultimately, it is the avoidance of human suffering through the proper protection that has earned Kevlar® it's place at the top in the world of hand protection.

Kevlar® is a registered trademark of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.

Glove tip
ImageIt's a good idea to keep both latex gloves and heavy-duty work gloves in a Emergency Preparedness Kit. The latex gloves protect against pathogens when assisting with injuries to people you may not know. The work gloves can be used to protect your hands from broken glass, barbed wire, etc.
