Frisk Duty Law Enforcement Gloves

Premium-grade ‘Frisk’ duty gloves are made from goat-grain leather, and feature a liner made with a composite blend of fiberglass and Dyneema® to protect against injury from razors, knives and other sharp objects. Outer glove is a black grain-leather roper style that is water-repellent treated and provides excellent abrasion resistance and dexterity. Goat skin is known for its strength, and the grade used in our duty gloves passes the demanding BS3144 tear-strength test, and the CAN/CGSB 4.2method 26.5 M89 high-pressure water-penetration test. Liner is a seamless 13-gauge fiberglass/nylon string-knit glove made with Dyneema® for extreme cut resistance. Dyneema® is the material used in many types of police ballistic vests, military helmets and body armor. Fiberglass has a high strength-to-weight ratio that, when combined with Dyneema® fiber, adds strength without any bulk. Gloves received an EN score of 3541, according to the 388:2003 test method. Gloves are exceptionally comfortable and dexterous, and feature elasticized cuffs for a snug fit.

Dyneema® is a registered trademark of Royal DSM Group N.V.

Do more layers equal more protection?
Construction in the palm area of leather gloves leads to some misconceptions. When sizing up gloves in a catalog, it is tempting to believe – based on appearance alone – that a patch palm is going to double your protection. To the uninitiated, palm patches would seem to offer greater protection, as the double palm looks like it would give twice the protection in that area.
The reality with most patch-palm leather glove styles is that the patch exists as a kind of bridge between two pieces of leather to create a full palm. This enables the glove manufacturer to maximize use of the full hide by using up all the smaller leftover pieces.
