S13FRT - Flame Resistant Rhovyl® Anti-static String-knit Gloves

At roughly half the cost of Nomex, Rhovyl® will not drip, melt or adhere to the skin if exposed to heat or direct flame, a quality that is not affected by laundering. Light as nylon and exceptionally non-absorbent, we've added
ESD-carbon filament for anti-static properties. (Surface-resistance rating between 10 to the 10th Ohms, to 10 to the 7th Ohms). Thin, seamless and soft, they provide the insulation, and warmth of wool - without the bulk or
itchiness - yet protect from both extreme heat and cold. Rhovyl® is hypo-allergenic, and resists mildew and other destructive biological agents (sun, salt and mold). It’s also easy care - machine washable and quick drying - so it also wicks moisture away from hands. S13FRT/S13FRTLP – The S13FRT is a 13-gauge string-knit Rhovyl®/ESD carbon-filament string-knit glove liner, knit with THT™ (True Hand Technology) for a greater fit and reduced hand fatigue. The S13FRTLP features this same glove with a specially treated split-leather palm attached using flame-resistant Kevlar® thread. The leather is treated with a fluorochemical emulsion for added water- and oil-repellency. Palm is a gunn-cut style with full-leather thumbs, leather that extends around the sides of the fingers for less rubbing and annoyance.
375CSFRES – Gunn-cut style gauntlet gloves feature built-in Rhovyl®/ESD carbon-filament liners to prevent static build-up and minimize the chance of sparks. With a resistance of 10.5 ohms, they are ideal for gas-company workers. Soft, full grain palms, split-leather backs and gauntlet cuffs provide excellent abrasion resistance and dexterity. Seams are moved toward the back of fingers and don’t rub and annoy for greater comfort and longer glove life. Kevlar® sewn for durability and flame resistance.

Kevlar® is a registered trademark of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company

Do more layers equal more protection?
Construction in the palm area of leather gloves leads to some misconceptions. When sizing up gloves in a catalog, it is tempting to believe – based on appearance alone – that a patch palm is going to double your protection. To the uninitiated, palm patches would seem to offer greater protection, as the double palm looks like it would give twice the protection in that area.
The reality with most patch-palm leather glove styles is that the patch exists as a kind of bridge between two pieces of leather to create a full palm. This enables the glove manufacturer to maximize use of the full hide by using up all the smaller leftover pieces.
