Emerald CX, Kevlar/Wire-Core Glove

The most recent addition to our line of Emerald CX cut-resistant gloves is the SKWCPLTC, which features the exceptional cut-resistance engineered into our Emerald CX yarns (a blend of Kevlar®, wire core steel and polyester) with the added protection of a split-leather, reinforced thumb patch. The result is that you have increased cut-resistance in the mostcritical area - the crotch of the thumb - without sacrificing the touch sensitivity and dexterity of a string glove. So, in situations where workers are handling sheet metal or glass, where touch sensitivity is as important as protecting the inside of the thumb area, this glove is the perfect choice.

Independent tests revealed the following results:

  • CPPT Cut test - 2260 grams (ASTM level 4)
  • TABER - 743 cycles (ASTM level 2)
With over a quarter-mile of steel in each glove, the cut and abrasion-resistance is twice that of a regular Kevlar® glove.

Kevlar® is a registered trademark of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.

    Common glove myth
ImageLeather is good for abrasion resistance, which is why it is used in bikers jackets. However, it is so low in cut resistance that even a lightweight string-knit cotton glove is more cut resistant than the average leather glove.
