String Knit Kevlar Steel Mesh Lined Leather Palm Cut Proof Work Gloves

Superior’s popular Triple Play string-knit Kevlar® gloves with split-leather palms have become an industry standard for cut resistance and durability. They offer exceptional protection against cut, abrasion and puncture with durable Tri-tan leather palms that wrap around the back of the fingers and the thumb. Made with A-grade split leather and attached to a cut-resistant knit shell using Kevlar® thread, seams are kept away from critical wear areas, so they keep going long after other gloves find their way to the garbage bin. The wrap around palm also ensures greater protection on the side and tips of the fingers. Our new SKSMLP gloves have numerous features that, in combination, give them a stunning 3600+ grams of cut resistance. A single layer of mesh is in between the entire leather palm and shell, but this is no ordinary steel mesh. We specifically developed it to be exceptionally cut resistant, yet softer and more supple than anything we have used before. This not only means less hand fatigue, but greater safety, since a more comfortable glove is a safer glove. The Kevlar® outer shell is a composite blend of wire-core steel and Kevlar®, for a dramatically higher cut rating than our regular Kevlar®. Our new gloves are knit on a wider needle bed too, so the addition of the steel-mesh liner does not compromise the comfortable fit of the glove. We’ve added a moulded-rubber impact-resistant knuckle pad for extra protection against knocks; and long, snug, knit-wrist cuffs to keep gloves securely in place. Cut resistance is rated as ASTM level 5, and CE level 5.

Common glove myth
ImageLeather is good for abrasion resistance, which is why it is used in motorcycle jackets. However, it is so low in cut resistance that even a lightweight string-knit cotton glove is more cut resistant than the average leather glove.
