3 Steps to Stop Overheating This Summer

Overheating already?

Remember not too long ago we were complaining about the cold? Well the warm weather is here – and many of us have already started.

But hey, don’t sweat it; below you’ll find some excellent examples of ways you can keep cool. While still complying with PPE standards in the workplace.

It’s All in the Fabric:

You wouldn’t wear your winter jacket outside in July, so you shouldn’t necessarily keep the same gloves on to work in the summer heat. Here are some better options:

High Performance Polyethylene

You’re more familiar with the brand names TenActiv™ or Dyneema®. These yarns are generally more comfortable than the competition. They are super lightweight, cool to the touch, and adapt to body heat. Since they stay cool, they can be worn for longer periods, thereby reducing injuries and associated costs. Here are more options.

If you wear cut-resistant sleeves for work, staying cool can be a challenge. The good news is that you don’t have to suffer throughout your work day. Yarn technology has advanced to the point where you can combine true comfort with uncompromised cut protection. Our Cutban™ sleeves for example are much cooler than Kevlar® sleeves. Knit with a high-tenacity filament yarn, you still get ASTM cut-level 2 protection. Pick your length, style and thumbhole options… Here’s the full guide.

Fine-Gauge Knits

Fine-gauge polyester knits are especially lightweight and breathable, wicking moisture away from hands. Even coated styles can offer this breathability. Our double-layer, microfinish-grip foam-latex palms provide excellent grip without adding uncomfortable warmth. If you’re construction outdoors this summer, these gloves are a great choice:

Beyond your glove selection, make sure to follow other stay-cool tips, as long as they are in accordance with your workplace safety policies.

  • Use sunscreen.
  • Stay hydrated to keep your body cool.
  • When outdoors, wear a hat to prevent overheating
  • Polarized sunglasses to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays and extreme brightness.
  • Plan your activities wisely, take breaks and know your limits.

You’re now ready for a cooler work season. Click any of the “Get my Sample” buttons to get yours.

Hi Joe
We are working on a project in South Korea (Mokpo) for s ship loader. The high wind and cold makes work really difficult. Major problem I found that worker are unable to work due to improper gloves. I am wondering how to get Snowforce Extreme Cold Winter Gloves at Mokpo. do you have any retail outlet in South Korea ??

I auction classic cars for a living. Lately people have been complaining that I leave a sweaty hand print on the trunk of the car when I push it off the auction block. Do you have any gloves that would prevent sweat from my hand from penetrating the gloves?
