No thanks, I don't want to prevent hand injuries.
For this week’s Friday Funny, we thought we’d throwback to the 1950’s. While the video is admittedly pretty ridiculous, featuring bad haircuts and outdated clothing, Bugs Bunny-esque sound effects, and a large number of silly, freak accidents. t does have an important message: workplace safety is no joke!
Taking the right precautions in order to minimize hazardous threats is the best thing you can do for yourself and those around you. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Being safe means you are always wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment to keep you safe, regardless of the workplace.
And now, without further ado, the video:
Now we hope you won’t be setting office fires any time soon, but if you are working with fire we suggest our Dexterity® 18-Gauge Flame-Resistant Arc Flash Gloves with Neoprene Palms. They offer a wide variety of safety features, they’re cut resistant, they are flame resistant. The neoprene coated palms is flame resistant and allows for optimal grip.

2:03: “Could such a little thing as a felt marker cause an accident? Or a red umbrella? Or a green umbrella?” …
4:30: “Accidents will happen. But, like most advice, Office Safety isn’t taken too seriously. Still, it would be nice if it were. You might call office safety ‘common sense.’ Thinking one step ahead, considering the consequence of your action. [Office fire occurs and grows, evidently because of the chemical sprayed into the garbage can.] It could be a simple act, such as reading the label or instructions on the instrument that you’re using, such as this one: ‘Do not use on electrical fires.’ Or, ‘Use the handrail.’ [Woman trips]. Or, ‘Caution: Men at Work’ [Woman trips over hammer and other tools and falls down the stairs].”
5:56: “Now office safety isn’t really a joke. Each year, thousands of people are injured and crippled and occasionally even killed in senseless accidents. It’s true statistically that offices are relatively safe places in which to work. But accidents can and do happen – even there. And they happen in just the empty-headed, careless way that we’ve just seen. Alright. So what do we do about it? Well, we can start by understanding that accidents occur when someone simply doesn’t realize that their action or lack of action could prove hazardous.”
6:48: “Well, that’s what accident rates are made of: trivial things.”
