Glove Laundering 101


Washing gloves very often results in significant savings, especially if you are using high-quality leather, Dyneema® or Kevlar® gloves. Superior will gladly assist you with any questions and provide you with information on laundering. Contact our customer service department for tips, especially the dos and don’ts of glove laundering. We will also provide you with the information you need to locate the best launderers in your area. Professional glove launderers will know how to wash any type of glove. Here is a rough guideline that may be helpful.

Detergent Wash
  1. Use approx. 5lbs commercial laundry soap or detergent per 100lbs Kevlar®
  2. Use Hot water: 170°F/75°F
  3. Wash for 20 minutes
  4. Rinse with Hot water
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 if necessary
  6. Rinse in Coldwater
  7. Tumble dry for 35 minutes at 155°F/70°C
Dry Cleaning
  1. Pre-wash using perchloroethylene for 5 minutes
  2. Drain
  3. Wash for 20 minutes using perchloroethylene and 12 oz of anionic surfactant/100lbs of Kevlar®
  4. Tumble dry at 140°F/60°F or less
